About Me

I think it's hysterical that my style quiz pegged me as "Classical Elegance." I'd probably call my style more like "Early Salvation Army." I like to breathe new life into old junk. I really like the Pottery Barn look, but am not as skilled as I'd like in pulling it off.

My husband and I recently sold the home where we raised our seven kids, and have bought a foreclosed farm. The house was well built, but there's a ton of cosmetic work to be done. We hope to have a place where we can enjoy our retirement and where our grandkids will enjoy spending holidays.

My Interests

Playing the violin, teaching ESL, studying the real estate market specifically and economics in general. Stretching a buck as far as it will go.

Spent small change, got a big change, When we bought this foreclosed home, our intention was to rip out the entire kitchen and start over--new cabinets, granite, appliances, the works. But life happened. Although we paid cash for the house, a subsequent layoff meant we had to scale back our renovation plans. Which was fine by me. My style is Classic Elegance

Traditional but not typical. Classic lines, tailored fabrics, a neutral palette with warm accents. I like Traditional and Victorian designs.
