Front Yard Cottage Garden, I started this garden in spring of 2006 -- the pictures here are from summer 2008. Last year I had the concrete on the side and easement demolished and extended the garden. This year I've already planted two pink flowering dogwoods in front of each window and I relocated two wisteria to each corner of the house so that I can train them to wrap around the front porch. From Bachelor Pad to Newlywed Nest, This is our starter house budget living room -- before I met my husband and now two years after I moved in. Neither of us have much of a sense of decorating style, but I think it looks MUCH better now! The space is an awkward one since it is open on two sides with windows on the other two walls. Our eat-in kitchen is also open to the living room, so I wanted to try to make the living room seem more intimate. The walls are a pale flesh color now, but I plan on having them soon painted a warm, pale yellow to better match the furniture and warm up the space. I'm still trying to get the husband to store his instruments elsewhere, but at least they're more out of the way than before. And anyone who has kitties will recognize the need for multiple throw rugs over the arms of the couch and chairs. , Living Rooms Design
