Kitchen That Cooks!, Our new kitchen remodel featured in our Target house-Tiffany Neighborhood. The old kitchen was 80's retro in our classic Colonial Home. We didn't change the layout because the "triangle" worked perfectly but updated and upgraded all finishes and appliances so that we two cooks would appreciate the function and also love cooking and creating in this space for our family and friends. It is light and bright overlooking the backyard where we can watch our kids and dogs play while preparing meals. , Kitchens Design

Vintage Kitchen, I used vintage 50's metal cabinets. Refinished them for a fresh look. Used pale green for the wall color. Dark pruple countertops to give the room the wow! including the purple accent wall in the corner!! , Kitchens Design

Kitchen Update (almost done), As you can see, we've made some improvements. It's not 100% yet but I thought I'd post some updated photos since we put the floor in yesterday.

First thing we did was move (replace) the fridge from next to the stove, to the adjacent wall. There was more room than we expected next to the stove even after moving it away from the drawers so we added a floor to ceiling cabinet we got from Craigslist (for free!) and a few more that were fairly cheap (and unfinished) from the hardware store. Installed the (craigslist $50) microwave.

We've also painted the walls, ceiling, all the cabinets and updated the hardware. There's a new laminate counter top that was inexpensive as well. and the big update, a bold move, the floor. Which was a laminate lock-together floating floor. I cant say that was cheap but it was a gift. (it may be cheap compared to real tile/install).

Now we have to put in a back splash. we're thinking tile, with some kind of color but we're not sure what to do.

There's still some little things like the trim around the ceiling molding to cover that gap, and baseboards. (I also have blinds I need to put up) , Kitchens Design
