Greek Revival front porch, The porch and columns were rotten and had to be completely demolished and rebuilt, including digging down and pouring new footings. Peter did all the work himself in about nine months while working a full time job. He watched youtube how to videos on brick laying and did the brick work on the front of the new footings. He took the old columns, repaired the rotted areas, rerouted them and added details to the top and bottom. The decking was hand cut from treated lumber to look like a traditional wood porch. He completed the look with a grand staircase fitting with the style of the porch and house. Using a professional grade paint sprayer helped give it a clean look and made it easier for him to finish the project. , Home Exteriors

Victorian Kitchen, We wanted a kitchen that fit with our 1885 Queen Anne Victorian. We also needed more light in the kitchen, with only one very small old window. We enlarged the window to a 4 ft by 4 ft and added a faux window on another wall with a dressed up mirror, which added more dimension and light. We did the entire kitchen remodel for around $10,000. by doing our own cabinet install, making the wood countertop and finding lights, stove fan and other items from Habitat for Humanity store. The "copper ceiling" is embossed wall paper painted with copper metalic paint. Cost: $40., Kitchens Design
