Color Restraint? What Color Restraint?, This space went from builder's white to the colorful tropical paradise. Why wait to go on vacation? The other half of this space is a home office - ironic, right? - and was too cluttered to show. , Living Rooms Design

COZY EATING NOOK, In our new house, the breakfast nook is tight on space but warm and cozy, with a formal flair.
Sources:
Wall Color: Benjamin Moore, Warm Brownie in eggshell finish
Chandelier: Minka Lavery
Copper Top Table: Crate and Barrel, topped with a round piece of glass
Settee and leather chairs: Home Goods
Rug: a local retailer
Grommet-top window panels: JCPenney, I added the green band to make them longer
Art: oil on canvas by a young artist - I had it stretched and framed which of course cost more than the painting LOL
Centerpiece: Cake stand from Pottery Barn, Dining Rooms Design

FIRST IMPRESSIONS, If first impressions count, the entrance hall deserves a special attention. In our new home, it went from a builder's white to a warm golden glow. The staircase and the floors remained the same ... but dressed up with new trim moldings, new paint on the walls, new chandeliers and sconces, and custom drapery panels framing the entrance door. The rectangular boxed trim has wallpaper inserts depicting flowering branches with little blue birds - bringing outside in - the wallpaper is somewhat reminiscent of Japanese screens. The goal was to create a warm & inviting, and a little "different" atmosphere. , Living Rooms Design

SUNNY SPOT, This is our breakfast nook, a bright area with a view of the backyard. Because of its octagonal shape and lots of windows, it feels almost like a sunroom ... so we painted the ceiling sky blue. Copper-top table from Crate and Barrell, leather chairs from HomeGoods, area rug from JCPenney, chandy from Progressive Lighting. , Dining Rooms Design
