Trying to change over from country to contemporary. It's funny how rooms looks great to me in person but I always find faults when I look at the pictures. I am happy with the transformation of this room. Although I had difficulty trying to get grays that were tinted the same way. I guess there really are "Fifty Shades of Grey" haha.
Also, I am in the process of finding frames for my maps. I think they are so cool. They are old soil maps of my area from 1927. Thank goodness my grandfather was a pack rat.
Since we never used our breakfast table and are always in the kitchen, I decided to take out the table and make a little gathering spot. So far it has been a success.HGTV
I couldn't afford to buy a new dining room set so I just bought some new chairs for the table. They really give it a totally different look.HGTV
We've lived in our house 10 years and have regretted not getting granite from the begininning, so we've saved and saved and finally got it and a backsplash (installed by my handy hubby). I love it but the black granite sure does show every little thing.HGTV
I am trying to make the transformation from country to contemporary style on a budget. I love green so I've tried to use it throughout my house.HGTV
My newly decorated home office. The "desk" was my mom and dad's first kitchen table (1940), the curtains are feed sacks saved by grandmother (1925), the bookshelf was made out of explosive boxes by my grandfather for my mother 60 yrs ago, the small printer table was my great grandmothers, and the bed footboard was my grandmothers (1900), The metal box was from a dairy my dad worked for (1958), The cameras on the bookshelf were my moms and the marbles were my dads.HGTV
