This is our tiny foyer/entryway. The front door is to the right, and den and guest bath to the left. Storage cubby mounted on right wall is useful for keys, hats, etc. Very small space, but the skylight helps to keep it light and bright. I've tried various furniture configurations. Right now I am liking this the best.HGTV
I posted this for anyone looking for closet organization/design ideas. I am happy with the overall size. It is enough room for a husband and wife with modest size wardrobe. Anything that doesn't fit in here, doesn't get to stay!HGTV
Wondering what white plantation shutters would look like installed on French doors, with silk curtains? Here it is! These are solid basswood, 2 1/2" louvers.HGTV
This is our informal dining area off kitchen, which is also open to the rest of the main floor living area. We are lucky to have a beautiful view of Los Angeles.
See more detail of the window treatments in my other upload, "Window Treatments".
Our living and dining areas have a combination of French doors, 2 large picture windows, and several casement windows. Our home is located in Los Angeles and we have a beautiful view of Hollywood, which I didn't want to obscure too much. My main goal was to cut down on the heat from the sun and lower our a/c bills, but also to add privacy and some decorative accents. I chose Thomas Kinkade fabric for the relaxed/European fold Roman shades, and creamy velvet panels with accents of brown and gold metallic for the picture window drapery.HGTV
We bought our Los Angeles home 2 1/2 yrs ago, and it came with a modest little garden. Zone 23. This is our backyard area, though it's hardly a 'yard'. Faces north and gets quite a lot of shade, considering we're in California. The house is 2 storeys up above and so the garden is often blocked by the sun. I am slowly adding to it and making decisions about what to replace as well. I have identified 80 plants so far, and just a few more to go.HGTV
