Hello Everyone!

Eclectic "farmhouse" dining room, I have been begging my husband to buy an antique farm table for as long as we've been married. I finally found one I loved at a local antique market and he begrudgingly agreed. The space is pretty small but it has a great window that lets in a lot of light. As of now I am not going to hang any window coverings. I like it simple and non-fussy.. I love the dark grey-brown of our wall contrasted with the white trim. We had the hutch in the kitchen of our old house. It was one of my very favorite pieces but we couldn't find a place for it until we got the new table which is much more narrow that the old one. I still need to hang some more art work on the walls...and like most other rooms in the house, need to change the lighting...some kind of contemporary pendants above the table where the recessed lights are now..thanks for looking. , Dining Rooms Design

Small family room , This room has been a challenge for us in our new house. We had a very spacious family room in our old house but gave that up when we moved here about 6 months ago. This room opens up to the kitchen (which is something I thought I'd hate..i know that sounds crazy!! but I do like it now). Ultimately our plan for this space is to turn this room into a dining space for the kitchen (since we have no real eat in space for a kitchen table) and add a great room where the current dining room is, but thats about three years off. So we are living in what it is now. I know the furniture isn't the best but it will be moving soon into our basement and we will be getting some new pieces. When we first moved in our plan was to remove the wood stove and drywall over the brick and remove the brick hearth to give us more space. One day (when my hubby was at work) I painted the brick white and we've kinda grown to love the stove and the character it adds to the space, especially centered between the builtins. I added wallpaper to the built ins to add some visual interest and we replaced the ceiling fan with a drum light and we painted over all traces of red painted trim and molding in the room!!, Living Rooms Design

Eclectic Simple Living Room, We moved into this house about 6 months ago. The walls, built-ins and trim were painted almond. We freshened everything up with white paint and gathered our favorite pieces of furniture (since this is the only non-kid space in the house!). I had been searching for mid-century armless chairs and, just by luck, stopped by a local consignment shop and found a pair of Norwegian 1970s leather armless chairs. I was thrilled! Mostly everything else has come from flea markets or family pieces (like the blanket chest). I was really excited about the bookshelves when we moved in, but decorating them has been more challenging than I expected. I want to rearrange them everyday but have been resisting the urge to do so. , Living Rooms Design

Thank goodness for paint!, We moved into this house about 6 months ago and knew that changing the exterior was one of our top priorities. We opted to paint the vinyl rather than replacing it since it was in decent shape and painting is a big cost saver. We used Sherwin Williams exterior paint. We also removed the screen door, painted the front door a happy teal and replaced the shutters with new white ones. Our next project (when the weather warms up) is refreshing the landscaping!, Home Exterior Design

budget kitchen overhaul, We moved into this house 6 months ago. We ripped down the wallpaper, painted the cabinets, replaced the leaf patterned vinyl flooring with wood and replaced the laminate countertops with granite. Lighting is the next big challenge. The dated track lighting looks horrible and doesn't function well. thinking of doing a bunch of recessed. Its been a challenge because one overhead light will not do the job and pendents are out because we have no island to ancher them. We chose to keep the black appliances for now because they are practically new. I had stainless in my last house and loved them but they are a lot harder to keep clean with kids in the house., Kitchens Design
