I actually transformed this space for a couple of dear friends of mine. It was the gift of my labor and talent to them for their generosity. They let me stay in their home while i was in between my own spaces.HGTV
This outdoor space was created because i couldn't buy waterfront property, so i brought the waterfront to me. With cave swim through and cascading waterfalls, who would ever need to leave home for a watery destination.HGTV
I decided to use a color that would create some drama. I used roasted pepper on the walls. The color works so well with the rich color of the dark wood in the headboard. The headboard was a feature i found in a zen garden. It's a series of six teak panels that were hand carved into a flower.
I love taking things meant for one use and using them for another.
Living and dinning areas come together with dark wood furnishings and two toned gold striped walls. It overlooks a busy street on the third floor and feels bigger than it actually is. Tall plants soften the corners while guild mirrors and blackamoors give warmth and a seance of an era long past. I call it elegant charm. Allot of soft lighting finishes the feel of mystery and romance to my space.HGTV
